Overview

Follow in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on our Everest Base Camp Trek โ€“ now transformed into a powerful 16 day experiential resilience program that blends adventure, culture, and deep personal growth.

This is more than a trek. It is a structured journey designed to stretch comfort zones, strengthen mindset, and help participants discover what they are truly capable of under challenge.

Your adventure begins in Kathmandu, where the group meets for the first of many guided reflection sessions. Here, you will explore the foundations of resilience before flying to Lukla โ€“ an extraordinary mountain flight that marks the official start of your ascent into the Khumbu. From the moment you take off and the Himalaya rises beneath you, the experience becomes immersive, intentional, and purpose driven.

Trekking Through the Heart of the Khumbu

From Lukla, the trail winds through Sherpa villages, across suspension bridges, and into valleys shaped by centuries of culture and mountaineering history. Each day blends physical challenge with facilitated resilience activities designed to build awareness, mindset, and capacity.

Participants work through structured prompts, micro-challenges, and guided discussions that connect the environment with evidence based resilience practices.

Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery, and the views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Everest offer breathtaking moments of inspiration. But it is the combination of these landscapes with your daily resilience work that makes this Everest Base Camp Trek truly transformative.

Reaching Everest Base Camp

Arriving at Everest Base Camp is a powerful milestone. Standing at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall โ€“ a place where determination, preparation, and human endurance converge โ€“ participants reflect on their own progress, strengths, and newly developed strategies for managing challenge.

This experience becomes a symbolic reminder of how far you have come and how much more capacity you possess than you first believed.

Everest Base Camp Trek: A Resilience Journey

Day 1

Kathmandu – Program Welcome

Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, youโ€™ll be met by our Resilience Builders staff and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, your trip leaders will personally welcome you, issue your equipment and kit bag, and introduce you to the framework that will shape the next 16 days: challenge, reflection, growth, and resilience in action.

In the evening, join your leaders and guides for a relaxed welcome dinner. Here, we set the tone for the journey ahead with an opening resilience session focused on mindset, intention and preparing to operate outside your comfort zone. Itโ€™s a strong beginning that blends adventure with purposeful learning.

Day 2

Kathmandu โ€“ Culture & Foundations of Resilience

After breakfast, we explore Kathmanduโ€™s cultural highlights โ€” Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and Durbar Square. Throughout the day, your leaders weave in concepts of perspective taking, presence, and awareness, using the cityโ€™s spiritual traditions to introduce core resilience themes.

The afternoon is at leisure, with our team available to assist with last-minute gear needs. Before dinner, we gather for a short guided reflection session designed to anchor learning and prepare for the challenges of altitude, uncertainty and the unknown.

Day 3

To Lukla and Phakding โ€“ Entering the Growth Zone

An early start takes us by private vehicle to Ramechhap Airport for the spectacular mountain flight to Lukla. As the Himalaya rises beneath the aircraft, we begin our first resilience exercise: noticing fear, excitement, anticipation and reframing them as fuel for growth.

Over breakfast at Namaste Lodge, we discuss todayโ€™s theme โ€” embracing uncertainty. Then we begin our first walk of the Everest Base Camp Trek: a gentle, steady introduction through Sherpa villages to Phakding.

A short reflection activity before dinner helps participants consolidate insight from their first day on the trail.

Day 4

Phakding to Namche Bazaar โ€“ Persistence and Confidence

Today is one of the more demanding sections as we ascend Namche Hill. Persistence, pacing, and mental strategy are todayโ€™s core resilience skills.

We pause at key points to complete short โ€œmicro-challenges,โ€ helping participants practise focus and controlled breathing under physical load. Clear weather may reveal our first glimpse of Everest โ€” a powerful moment used to connect aspiration with process.

In Namche, we settle in for two nights at the Namche Hotel. After dinner, a guided debrief explores how participants responded to effort, strain, and altitude.

Day 5

Namche Bazaar โ€“ Acclimatisation & Psychological Strength

Todayโ€™s acclimatisation walk to Hotel Everest View introduces the theme of psychological recovery โ€” understanding how the mind resets, recharges, and adapts under stress.

At the top, we run a structured reflection session with Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam as the backdrop. The afternoon is yours to explore Namche before a resilience workshop in the early evening on self-awareness and stress appraisal.

Day 6

Namche to Deboche โ€“ Calm Under Pressure

Leaving Namche, the scenic traverse toward Tengboche offers constant reminders of the scale of the mountains surrounding us. At Tengboche Monastery, we pause for a short guided mindfulness session โ€” training the ability to remain grounded under pressure.

After coffee and pastries, we descend to the peaceful forested village of Deboche. Before dinner at Rivendell Lodge, the group completes a reflective exercise on energy management and emotional regulation.

Day 7

Deboche to Dingboche โ€“ Expanding Capacity

Todayโ€™s journey introduces greater exposure, altitude and terrain changes. As we cross the suspension bridge and ascend toward Pangboche, our leaders introduce techniques for managing self-talk and cognitive load.

The approach to Dingboche marks a shift into higher, more rugged landscapes โ€” a fitting setting for todayโ€™s theme: expanding capacity through intentional effort.

In the evening, a guided journalling session helps participants identify personal patterns under challenge.

Day 8

Dingboche โ€“ Active Recovery & Reflection

A slower morning allows for essential physical and psychological recovery. Mid-morning, we take a gentle acclimatisation walk up the valley towards Chukhung and Island Peak.

Todayโ€™s resilience focus is adaptability โ€” learning to adjust pace, expectations and energy while maintaining forward movement.

After returning to Dingboche, we run a facilitated discussion on rest as a performance strategy, not a step backwards.

Day 9

Dingboche to Lobuche โ€“ Meaning, Motivation & Mindset

One of the most powerful days of the program. As we ascend past Thukla Pass, we pause at the memorials honouring climbers who died on Everest. This solemn place becomes the setting for a resilience activity centred on purpose, values and intrinsic motivation.

Altitude becomes noticeable today, providing the perfect real-world environment to practise breath control, pacing, and mental discipline.

Evening reflection: How do we stay motivated when conditions become difficult?

Day 10

Everest Base Camp โ€“ Achievement, Perspective & Pride

We trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier to Gorak Shep, refuel, then make our steady approach to Everest Base Camp. The final hours require focus, teamwork and controlled effort โ€” a culmination of every resilience skill built so far.

At Base Camp, we hold a guided session on achievement, identity, and belief โ€” anchoring this milestone as evidence of each participantโ€™s capability.

We return to Gorak Shep for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Day 11

Kala Pattar & Descent to Pheriche โ€“ Peak Experience & Recovery

A pre-dawn ascent of Kala Pattar brings us to 5550m for sunrise over Everest. At the summit we run a short grounding exercise, emphasising clarity, presence and gratitude.

The descent to Pheriche is gentler and provides ideal space for personal reflection. Afternoon workshop: turning peak experience into sustained behavioural change.

Day 13

Deboche to Khumjung / Namche โ€“ Confidence & Leadership

As we revisit Tengboche and descend toward Sanasa, todayโ€™s theme is leadership under fatigue. Participants take turns navigating, pacing or supporting others, applying the resilience skills learned throughout the trek.

Depending on group energy, we finish in Khumjung or continue to Namche. Evening session: leadership styles, communication and how we support others through challenge.
